Opened in 2006, Pinnacle Point Golf Course was co-designed by Peter Matcovitch and Darren Clarke.  The emerald green fairways and tees of this cliff-top Fynbos course provide the perfect surface for superb shots, and the breathtaking views and dramatic terrain along with its challenging layout provide a true test of a golfer’s ability.  There are 7 holes that line the majestic Indian Ocean rock cliffs, 4 of which are played over the ocean and cliffs.

Ernie Els first championship design in South Africa Golf Courses, Oubaai Golf Course, located at the Hyatt Regency Oubaii Golf Resort & Spa in Herold’s, utilizes elements of links design with grasses flanking the immaculate fairways and greens.  The course provides spectacular views of the Outenique mountains, Gwaing River Valley and the Indian Ocean.  The signature hole is the par 3 17th as, like the 7th hole at Pebble Beach, with a downhill elevation and the costal breezes it’s short but very deceptive with a green that is surrounded by four bunkers.

Created from a previously flat piece of land, over 700 000 cubic meters of earth was moved in transforming The Links at Fancourt into a typical links style course.  The Gary Player designed course has undulating, windswept terrain and a dune-style landscape.  The Links presents a stern test of your game in all weather conditions.  The par 3 2nd hole has a bunker in the middle of its enormous green.  Limited tee times are available to guests staying at the Fancourt Resort.   Host course of the 2003 Presidents Cup, 2005 Women’s World Cup and 2006 South African Open.  Ranked #67 on Golf Digest’s list of 100 Greatest Courses outside the US it is a one of the jewels of South African Golf Courses.

Designed by Gary Player and remodeled in 2004 by David McKlay-Kidd (Bandon Dunes), the Fancourt Montague Course, named after the MontaguPass, is considered to be one of  the South African golf courses.  The Montagu is a glorious parkland layout with a setting that takes in mountains, water and interesting wildlife covering large tracts of varying terrain on rolling land.  Its beauty is enhanced by mature trees, flower beds, shrubs and water hazards.

Fancourt Outeniqua Course is similar to the Montagu in terms of character, challenging design and conditioning.

Also designed by Gary Player, the majestic Fancourt Outeniqua 18-hole course is similar to its sibling the Montagu in terms of character, challenging design and conditioning.  Beautifully maintained, the Outiniqua Course is a parkland design of the highest quality.  Although the course moves through a fair amount of housing, it is well set back and carefully hidden with the use of flower beds, trees and well placed water hazards.

Situated between Fancourt and the town of George, this mature and beautifully manicured George Golf Club parkland par 72 18 hole layout is a traditional members club set in the heart of the Garden   Route.  The course provides an excellent selection of Par 3 holes and very strong Par 4’s.  The finish is considered to be one of the best in the country.
