Bodysgallen Hall & Spa
Believed to have 13th century origins, Bodysgallen Hall & Spa is a magnificent 17th century Manor House set among 200 acres of parkland with spectacular views of the Snowdonia Mountain and Conwy Castle. The hotel features 19 bedrooms and suites each individually decorated and furnished with antique furniture and works of art. Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th century Parterre of box hedges filled with sweet-scented herbs, a rockery with a cascade, a walled rose garden, and several follies. The hotel has two restaurants which have been awarded three rosettes by the AA for fine-dining in the Main Hall. The Bistro offers simpler food in a contemporary setting.
Maes-y-Neuadd
Situated amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, with spectacular views across the Snowdonia National Park, Maes-y-Neuadd (translated means “Hall in the Field” / “Mansion in the Meadow”) is nestled into a wooded mountainside. Solidly built of Welsh granite and slate, it dates from the 14th century. The hotel’s setting is superb. It stands in over seven acres of landscaped lawns, orchard and paddock on a wooded hillside high above the waters of Tremadog Bay. Snowdonia’s grandeur is right on the doorstep and Harlech, with its mighty castle and famous Royal St. David’s golf links, is but three miles away. All modern comforts have been blended into a historic fabric that includes an inglenook fireplace, decorated plasterwork and oak beams. Each bedroom is individually designed and equipped to the highest standards. Special mention must be made of the food. Maes-y-Neuadd’s skillfully prepared, imaginative cuisine which combines French, Welsh and English influences has won high praise in the leading food guides including 2 AA rosettes and an RAC blue ribbon for its fine restaurant.
